Peter Brennan

Poems and Publications

Strongly cinematic... full of numerous felicities. This is verse that demands, easily, and gives, graciously.
A perfect encapsulation of the problems of desire.

– Peter Stavrou

Torch of Venus (2007) is located in the synchronicities of shared lifetimes. Linguistically compressed and emotionally searching,
this sequence has proved a moving experience for audiences at numerous readings.

Didymoi (2008) engages with the dynamic suggested by the sign of the Twins. In this sequence, Brennan evokes a distinctive,
stilling tone that marshals the reflecting elements of an unpredictable yet coherent spectacle.

Joy and sadness run only just below the surface of these poems …This sequence is a torch song, and a very fine one at that.
– Matt Merritt, Sphinx 7
